Tensile Social Matrix™
Map roles, routines, practices, and language. These are necessary functions, not personality types. Mark only what participants can observe. Assess all five functions to reveal your visual matrix below.

Your Tensile Social Matrix™
Each role has a direction as well as a state: more oriented toward present conditions, holding both, or more oriented toward telos.
Both strong points remain necessary.

Trust & load regulationEach function carries the central tension. State and direction are independent. Neither direction is automatically better; discern their contribution to the present season and shared telos. Validate intake suggestions with the people carrying the work.
HOW LANGUAGE CARRIES THE TENSION
Speech Act Theory · Language Scan
Examine the words, the action performed in saying them, and their effects. Use this listening heuristic to preserve truth and personhood in the same conversation.
What was said?
What action did it perform?
What did it produce?
How to use the speech-act lens
Locution attends to the words and their meaning. Illocution attends to the action performed in speaking, such as asserting, requesting, or committing. Perlocution attends to the resulting effects on people and the situation.
All five Social Matrix functions can be carried through different speech acts. Interpret an utterance in its context, verify the action with participants, and observe its effects. Illustrative patterns provide prompts for inquiry; actual-phrase mode keeps your observations separate from those examples.

Personhood Safeguard. People are the fundamental strong points; the map serves persons. Critique practices, not persons. Validate this working interpretation with the people carrying the tension.
